The Junior Architect assists senior architects supporting various aspects of the design process, from initial concept development to project execution. It is a valuable opportunity for individuals to gain experience and develop their skills on the path to becoming a Senior Architect.
Assisting with Design Development:
Support senior architects in developing design concepts that meet client needs and preferences.
Create initial sketches, mood boards, and 3D/BIM models under the guidance of senior architects.
Space Planning:
o Strong command of floor planning skillset to produce interior space and urban plans, ensuring functionality and efficient use of space
o Heavy use of BIM software to create floor plans, elevations, architectural details and as-builts to the construction team as needed.
Material and Product Research:
o Research and source materials, fixtures, and systems that align with the design concept.
o Prepare material boards and product samples for client presentations.
Project Coordination:
o Help coordinate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the integration of designs with overall project plans.
o Assist in managing project timelines and schedules.
Client Interaction:
o Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and preferences.
o Assist in preparing and presenting design proposals to clients, incorporating their feedback.
Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and meeting notes.
o Prepare regular progress reports for senior designers and clients.
Quality Assurance:
o Assist in implementing quality control processes to ensure design work meets industry standards and project specifications.
o Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor the progress of design implementation.
Compliance and Safety:
o Ensure that designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and accessibility standards.
Administrative Support:
o Provide general administrative support to the design team, including scheduling meetings and managing communications.
o Assist in organizing and maintaining project files and resources
2 Years of Experience.
Previous experience in BIM, architecture; understanding of building codes is beneficial.
Basic design skills with an understanding of aesthetics, function, and spatial arrangements
Proficiency in design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Archicad, or other industry-standard software with a strong skillset in space planning.
Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and clients.
